Application Process

Only one proposal per Principal Investigator, per cycle may be submitted. All areas of education will be considered. For the 2019-2020 academic year, the IEE is particularly interested in proposals that focus on respect, teamwork and civility in the learning environment. Suggestions of focus include, but are not limited to;

Important Program Dates

Phase I Deadline for Submission: June 3, 2019 (by 5 pm)

Phase II Invitations: July 1, 2019

Phase II Presentation to the IEE Managing Board: September 25, 2019

Funding Begins: Immediately, but no later than January 1, 2020

 


Phase I: A brief written proposal which will be reviewed for consideration for a live presentation to the IEE Managing Board

Please indicate:

5. PROPOSAL (strict 350-word maximum)

Include the following three sections:

  • Problem to be solved/statement of importance
  • Proposal/methods – what you plan to do
  • Assessment plan (and possible dissemination)

6. IDENTIFY which of the JHUSOM Foundational Principles for Teaching and Education your proposal will reflect, utilize or address

7. BUDGET (Including other support. Please use a concise table format)

Please include your name, contact information and title of proposal, and submit to IEE@jhmi.edu.


Phase II: Finalists must present to the Managing Board on Wednesday, September 25, 2019, scheduled between 8 – 10 a.m. PI must be present for live presentation.

  • Presentation should follow the outline of the submitted proposal (10 minutes)
  • Questions, feedback and discussion with the board (15- 20  minutes)
