Do you need funding to kick-start an education project?
The IEE Small Grants Program provides funding for JHUSOM faculty members to support educational scholarship and innovation projects. Some calls permit topics in all areas of medical and biomedical education, broadly defined, while others have a specific and more limited focus. We use a two-phase process. Phase I: brief written application; Phase II: the IEE Managing Board, who makes final decision of funding, selects finalists to present live.
Award amounts of up to $7,500 are possible; additional consideration will be given to applications requesting less than the maximum award amount.
We encourage applicants to develop their own mentoring team. Applicants can also meet with the IEE Small Grants Advisory Committee, chaired by Steve Sozio, MD, MHS, MEHP, to help with proposals (as available). Finalists are strongly encouraged to meet with this Committee in advance of their presentation. Dr. Sozio can be contacted at email@example.com for scheduling and guidance.
For the 2020-2021 academic year, the focus of proposals MUST be related to one of these two topics:
- Online Teaching and Learning (focusing on innovation and quality, not “emergency” remote teaching)
- Diversity, Inclusion and Equity
