About the Program

Kind words. Empathetic support. Respectful collaborations. On a daily basis, Johns Hopkins employees carry out our mission to deliver safe, compassionate patient-centered medicine, to provide an exceptional education for students and trainees, and to conduct innovative research to diagnose, treat and prevent illness.

The Service Stars Program at The Johns Hopkins Hospital is designed to recognize staff members whose outstanding service caught the attention of their peers, our patients and their families. The Department of Service Excellence selects deserving employees every quarter to represent the dozens of nominations it receives.

About the Department

Our chief patient experience officer leads the Department of Service Excellence, which is comprised of patient experience, patient relations, guest services and volunteer services staff members whose roles are focused on creating a high performing patient- and family-centered care culture.
