COVID-19 Emotional Support Resources

Supporting the Health and Well-Being of JHM Faculty and Staff

We recognize that there are many reasons that COVID-19 may cause stress. We would like to highlight the existing JHM resources available to you. As the Coronavirus situation unfolds, the JHM Office of Well-being will serve as a coordinating center to communicate individual and team support. Download a printable resource flyer.

  • mySupport

    Provides several types of assistance to The Johns Hopkins University and Johns Hopkins Medicine faculty and staff, including emotional support to help you manage stress at work or at home, emotional distress, or a difficult life transition; daily life assistance, such as referrals for child care or elder care; and referrals for legal and financial assistance. This free benefit is confidential and available to you and your household family members 24/7.

  • RISE- Resilience in Stressful Events

    The Resilience in Stressful Events team provides confidential peer-to-peer support for health system employees who have experienced a stressful, patient-related incident. The RISE team is available 24/7.

  • Healthy at Hopkins

    The branded employee health and well-being program for JHHS employees. Resources and programs cover the spectrum of healthy lifestyle strategies, such as sleep, meditation and relaxation techniques and are available for individuals and teams.   • Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences

    Provides assessment and management of mental illnesses like major depressive disorder, panic disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder for faculty and staff working at JHH and Bayview. To access these services, call mySupport at 443-997-7000, option #2, and ask to be transferred to the mySupport Onsite Clinical Team. Also currently providing three times a day stress management mindfulness meditation sessions available to all JHM staff on Zoom.

  • Mini Leadership Coaching Sessions

    Confidential, 20-30 minute, one-on-one phone (or zoom) sessions, to give leaders a brief time to pause, reflect, and refuel. Sessions are with certified coaches from JHHS, at no cost. Email Learning and Organizational Development to set up a time that works for you.

  • Religious and Cultural Toolkit

    Social and physical distancing, and limited meeting capacity can make it more difficult to access spiritual and religious support services. The toolkit was developed by the Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Health Equity and the Department of Spiritual Care and Chaplaincy.

  • Faculty Factory

    The Office of Faculty at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine stands ready to support faculty during these trying times. Access Faculty Factory snippets via website, YouTube, and your favorite podcast app.

  • Ethics Resources

    Videos and resources for front line clinicians who are facing the unprecedented ethical challenges posed by the COVID-19 outbreak presented by the Berman Institute for Bioethics

  • Suburban Hospital Resiliency Center

    Open seven days a week,11 a.m. –10 p.m., with a relaxation lounge that’s open all night. Music relaxation therapy, open art studio, meditation sessions, individual and group counseling sessions, chair yoga, and teatime.

  • Download the Calm App

    All Johns Hopkins staff have free access to the Calm App with guided meditation, bedtime stories, soothing music and relaxation tools.

    Resources and ability of individual employees to maintain physical, emotional, mental and financial well-being for everyday or life.

  • Silvercloud

    For JHU students, faculty and staff. Sign up for Silvercloud- a secure and anonymous on-line space to get support for stress, depression and anxiety.

  • Online Stress Management Tools and Resources

    Check out the Healthy at Hopkins portal for a variety of programs and resources to help you manage your stress and improve your well-being through guided meditations, mindfulness practices, online yoga and cardio classes and more.
