Patient Stories

  • Beating Brain Tumors | Jeanie's Story

Worried by Jeanie's worsening coordination, her sister encouraged her to see a doctor, and the news was shocking. She had three brain tumors that had spread from an advanced cancer. She sought care from radiation oncologist Lawrence Kleinberg and neurosurgeon Chetan Bettegowda.

  • Glioblastoma and BRAF Gene Mutation | Courtney’s Story

A referral to neuro-oncologist Karisa Schreck and neurosurgeon Jon Weingart changed the course of Courtney's illness. They identified a specific tumor mutation in the BRAF gene and used a combination of treatments to shrink the tumor and keep it in remission.
