Since 2016, the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine Reproductive Endocrinology Program in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Institute of Genetic Medicine have jointly offered a 4 year fellowship program that combines training in REI and medical genetics. Physicians interested in participating in this program must have completed an ACGME-accredited residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

This combined fellowship training will be completed at Johns Hopkins hospital and its affiliated training sites. Trainees will spend their first full year as residents in Medical Genetics at Johns Hopkins. During the second year, fellows will complete their clinical training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Johns Hopkins. During the third and fourth years, fellows will complete 6 months of additional training requirement in Medical Genetics and REI, and up to 18 months of clinical and/or laboratory-based research training in REI-Genetics. Trainees who have successfully completed this training program are eligible for sit for the examination leading to board certifications of ABOG in REI and ABMGG in Clinical Genetics

Applicants interested in this combined training pathway should submit their application through ERAS. Applications will be reviewed by faculty members from both REI and Medical Genetics training programs.
