The Birthing Center at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center is comprised of an expert team of dedicated physicians, certified nurses and mid-wives, and other health care professionals ready to provide comprehensive care to expectant mothers from their first trimesters to the journey home with their new babies.

Park in the east parking garage and enter the Bayview Medical Office building of the hospital through the blue awning entrance. This entrance is also appropriate for the drop-off of patients if needed.

Labor and delivery patients can typically have two care partners at the bedside, but this is subject to change according to the current COVID-19 risk level.

- Phone charger
- Clothes for both you and the baby to go home in
- Any personal toiletries you prefer
- Light blanket for the baby to use upon discharge
- Robe and/or nightgown if you prefer to wear your own
We provide linens and pillows for care partners, as well as sleep chairs in each room.

We do have midwife providers in our practice, who can be available to patients upon request.

We have International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC) on staff to assist with breastfeeding while you are here in the hospital. We also offer a call line to use after you are discharged: 410-502-3221.
