Quality Improvement at JHHC

The Quality Improvement (QI) department at Johns Hopkins HealthCare (JHHC) is dedicated to providing Johns Hopkins Advantage MD (Advantage MD), Johns Hopkins Employer Health Programs (EHP), Johns Hopkins Uniformed Services Family Health Plan (USFHP), and Priority Partners Managed Care Organization (PPMCO) members with the highest quality healthcare services available. The QI department utilizes key processes of analysis, strategy, implementation, monitoring, and reporting as an integral part of the internal QI process.

Focus Areas

Using national measures and best practices, the Quality Improvement Program ensures that plan members receive care and services of the highest standard. Quality Improvement initiatives are identified through analysis of data, aimed at delivering continued improvement in the following areas:

  • Organizational quality
  • Service excellence
  • Quality of care and member safety
  • Business process improvement

Annual Evaluations

QI initiatives and projects are developed after careful consideration that includes the potential positive impact on Plan member health outcomes. The progress of QI initiatives and projects are regularly evaluated and updated. The outcomes of all quality initiatives and studies are evaluated annually to identify any trends. In addition, results from the annual evaluation are used when setting objectives for the upcoming year.
