The Johns Hopkins Advanced Specialty Training Program (ASTP) in Obesity Medicine is a one-year, intensive clinical fellowship designed to prepare physicians to become leaders in the prevention, evaluation, and treatment of obesity and its related conditions. As one of the nation's premier training programs in obesity medicine and a member of the Obesity Medicine Fellowship Council, the program provides comprehensive clinical education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and opportunities for scholarly and professional growth.

Fellows gain hands-on experience across the full spectrum of obesity medicine through diverse clinical rotations. Clinical experiences include:

• Adult obesity medicine at the Healthful Eating, Activity and Weight Program (HEAWP) under the supervision of multiple faculty preceptors certified by the American Board of Obesity Medicine
• Group visits for obesity management
• Care of patients with obesity-related medical conditions
• Bariatric surgery clinics and operating room experience
• Pediatric obesity medicine at the Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital Healthy Living Academy
• Weight management services such as psychological evaluations through the Obesity Behavioral Medicine Program
• Minimally invasive obesity treatment procedures
