Application Procedure for Obesity Medicine Fellowship

The fellowship position for the 2026-2027 academic year has been filled.

Our program follows the application dates and deadlines set by the Obesity Medicine Fellowship Council (OMFC). Though dates may change slightly year to year, applications are typically accepted starting the beginning of August through early November for the upcoming academic year. For priority consideration, all application materials must be submitted within this application window. Details on the required application materials and how to submit each one are listed below. Either in-person or remote interviews will be scheduled on a rolling basis during the application window period, and the fellowship aims to notify applicants of selection in early December.

Eligibility

Currently, we cannot sponsor visas, consider international graduates or host observerships.

All applicants should be board-certified or board-eligible in internal medicine, family medicine, or internal medicine-pediatrics.  The clinician track predominantly recruits citizens and permanent residents of the U.S.; however, other applicants may be considered on a case-by-case basis.  Due to training grant restrictions, only citizens and permanent residents of the U.S. are eligible to apply to the clinician-investigator track.
