Zoobia Wazir Chaudhry, MD
Director, Obesity Medicine Fellowship
Dr. Zoobia Chaudhry is board-certified in Internal Medicine and a diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine. She has been practicing as an obesity medicine specialist since 2014. She is a passionate clinician-educator, and has been actively involved in training and precepting residents in internal medicine and preventive medicine with a specific emphasis on obesity medicine.
Larry Cheskin, MD
Dr. Larry Cheskin is board-certified in Internal Medicine, and has been practicing obesity medicine since 1990. He is an active clinician and educator on obesity, as well as serving on obesity-related research protocols that have included novel and cutting edge therapies.
Jyotsna Ghosh, MD
Marci Laudenslager, MD, MHS
Dr. Marci Laudenslager is board-certified in Internal Medicine and a diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine. She has been practicing as an obesity medicine specialist since 2020. She is active in medical education research, particularly around improving internal medicine residents’ education on obesity care. She also precepts residents in internal medicine and preventive medicine at the Healthful Eating, Activity & Weight Program.
Selvi Rajagopal, MD, MPH
Dr. Selvi Rajagopal is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, as well as a diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine. She has been practicing as an obesity medicine specialist since 2020. Using her Medicine-Pediatrics background, she has a specific interest in obesity treatment within the emerging adult population. She also focuses clinically on working with women with obesity in conjunction with obstetrics-gynecology and reproductive endocrinology to manage conditions such as polycystic ovarian syndrome and infertility.

Janelle Coughlin, PhD
Director, Obesity Behavioral Medicine Program
Dr. Janelle Coughlin provides clinical training in obesity-related psychological treatment at the Johns Hopkins Obesity Behavioral Medicine Program. She is a clinical psychologist with specific training and clinical focus on psychological and behavioral treatments of obesity for both adolescents and adults since 2004. In addition to her clinical expertise, Dr. Coughlin supervises several faculty members, postdoctoral fellows and students on psychological and behavioral treatments for obesity.
Stephanie E. Green, MD, MS
Director, Fit and Healthy Kids Clinic at Kennedy Krieger Institute
Dr. Stephanie Green specializes in providing care to children with elevated weight and metabolic syndrome conditions at both Kennedy Krieger and Johns Hopkins Children's Center. Her clinical activities include directing of the Fit and Healthy Kids Multidisciplinary Clinic at Kennedy Krieger Institute, a clinic designed to treat elevated weight in children with physical or cognitive differences and disabilities. Additionally, she designed and directed the bi-weekly Healthy Families Program at Johns Hopkins Children's Center, a biweekly lifestyle medicine group designed to help the whole family achieve better health.
Ashli Greenwald, MS, RD, LDN
Advance Practice Dietitian
Ashli Greenwald is an Advanced Practice Dietician at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center’s Clinical Nutrition Clinic and concentrates on General Nutrition, Bariatric
Surgery Nutrition and Weight Management. Obesity Medicine fellows rotate through the nutrition clinic, which allows fellows to gain invaluable, hands-on experience in
patient-centered nutrition care. Observing dietitians in the outpatient setting enables fellows to deepen their understanding of tailored dietary interventions, behavior
change strategies, and the role of nutrition in obesity management. This immersive learning enhances their ability to develop comprehensive treatment plans, foster
multidisciplinary collaboration, and ultimately improve patient outcomes in obesity care.
Geri Keane, MBBS, MSc
Dr. Margaret “Geri” Keane is a gastroenterologist specializing in Therapeutic and Bariatric endoscopy. She primarily treats people who require assistance with weight loss or who have weight regain or a complication following Bariatric Surgery. She offers the full range of minimally invasive endoscopic approaches to weight loss, including endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty, the gastric balloon procedure or transoral gastric outlet reduction. She also sees patients who have biliary complaints such as bile duct stones or strictures, cancers of the bile duct or and diseases of the pancreas such as pancreatic cysts, to name a few. She performs all forms of therapeutic EUS and ERCP including cholangioscopy.
Kevin Levi-Goerlich, PT, DPT, OCS
Dr. Kevin Levi-Goerlich is a Physical Therapist and Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy. His clinical focus is on orthopaedic rehabilitation and sports medicine, specializing in the care of runners and other endurance athletes. He provides clinical education to obesity medicine fellows on activity promotion, exercise counseling, and dosage of exercise for both weight loss and rehabilitation goals. He is also clinical faculty for the Johns Hopkins Hospital & George Washington University Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency Program.
Ann Scheimann, MD, MBA
Director, Mt. Washington Weigh Smart Program
Dr. Ann Scheimann provides clinical training in pediatric obesity medicine at Mt. Washington Pediatrics Weigh Smart Program. She trained in pediatric gastroenterology and nutrition, and has extensive experience in obesity including weight management treatment of children and use of motivational interviewing. She has been overseeing pediatric obesity care at the Mt. Washington Pediatrics Weigh Smart Program since 2005. In addition to her clinical expertise, Dr. Scheimann precepts pediatric residents at Johns Hopkins in obesity, nutrition and gastroenterology.
Michael Schweitzer, MD
Director, Johns Hopkins Obesity Surgery Center
Dr. Michael Schweitzer provides clinical training in bariatric surgery for obesity medicine fellows, which will include outpatient practice as well as observation in the operating room during bariatric surgical procedures. Dr. Schweitzer directs the Johns Hopkins Obesity Surgery Center, and has been performing bariatric surgeries since 1998. The Johns Hopkins Obesity Surgery Center has performed over 5,000 bariatric operations since 1996 and is accredited with the MBSAQIP. Dr. Schweitzer is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). He served as the President of the Maryland Chapter of ASMBS from 2014-2015. In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr. Schweitzer trains surgical fellows in bariatric and metabolic surgery.
