Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Physical Therapy Residency

The Johns Hopkins Hospital and University of Delaware Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Residency prepares residents to apply for the cardiovascular and pulmonary specialty certification and positions them for advancement along the clinical ladder.

Duration: 12 months
Accreditation: Candidacy status
Application deadline: Rolling
Interviews: Rolling
Program start: September 2022
Prerequisites: Applicant must have or be eligible to obtain a license to practice physical therapy in the state of Maryland. We do not sponsor work visas for international applicants for residency programs.

The residency includes the following units:

  • Introduction and orientation to facilities
  • Cardiac medicine service
  • Cardiac surgery service
  • Pulmonary medicine (medicine service)
  • Pulmonary surgery (surgery or oncology services)
  • Exposure to cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation
  • Specialized clinical management
  • Clinical education
