Frequently Asked Questions

Please note that most states require physical therapists to be licensed in the state where they provide care. All our therapists are licensed in Maryland, and some are licensed in additional states.
When scheduling an appointment in MyChart, you will be asked to enter the state where you will be during the visit. The state of residency does not matter in this case — just your physical location at the time of the appointment. If you enter a state other than Maryland, your virtual appointment options may be limited. If no appointment times are found for the state you selected, please call our scheduling line at 443-997-5476.

Many conditions can be evaluated and treated by incorporating virtual care. For example, you may have an initial virtual consultation with a therapist to discuss your concerns and treatment options. At this stage, the therapist may recommend whether you should come in for a visit or if your care can continue online.
Many exercises can be done at home with simple tools you might already have, such as a yoga mat or an exercise ball. However, if your therapist decides you will benefit from the specialized equipment in our gyms, in-person care may be the best option for you.

If this is your first appointment, your therapists will talk to you about your concerns, medical history, health goals and other relevant details. The goal is to understand how physical therapy can help you. Your therapists may ask you to perform certain movements so they can assess your range of motion, strength and flexibility. After this appointment, your therapist will put together an exercise plan for you.
During future virtual appointments, your therapist will guide you through different exercises by demonstrating the movement and providing verbal instruction. They will watch how you perform the exercise and provide feedback on any adjustments. Your exercise plan will also be loaded into our Rehab at Home app so you can access the demo videos any time.
During certain exercises, your therapist may ask you to use household items in place of equipment you would use in the clinic.
