“The Johns Hopkins GIM Fellowship was the bridge connecting my experience in clinical medicine to a career in research. As a resident and practicing internist, I was concerned by excess rates of hypoglycemia in people with diabetes and the often unmet need to individualize diabetes treatment with aging. The fellowship provided the research training and outstanding mentorship necessary to build a career addressing these challenges. They have always supported me in focusing my work on what I find exciting and meaningful, which is a gift.”
