The Emergency Medicine Residency Program for physician assistants is an 18-month residency program that includes training in ATLS and Emergency Ultrasound. In addition to the scheduled rotations, emergency medicine and specialty-specific conferences to support learning are scheduled weekly. Conferences are coordinated and conducted by clinical professionals and colleagues from emergency medicine and specified specialty areas. During the final six months of the residency program, the resident also will function as a mentor to junior residents.

PA residents will spend most of their time at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, with the exception of pediatrics and ophthalmology. The pediatric rotation will be held at The Johns Hopkins Hospital Pediatric Emergency Department. The ophthalmology rotation will be held at the Wilmer Eye Emergency Department/Clinic at The Johns Hopkins Hospital.
