World Class Medicine

Our Facilities

The Department of Emergency Medicine is offered in three Johns Hopkins Medicine locations: The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, both in the Baltimore area; and Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center in Columbia, Maryland.

Construction Announcement

The Johns Hopkins Hospital Emergency Department is undergoing an expansion and renovation project to make improvements to our space. Among the upgrades, the renovation will update our waiting room, add patient care spaces and improve patient privacy.

Construction may, at times, require us to direct patient care to different parts of our emergency department. Our goals during the renovation are to minimize work disruptions and to continue to provide excellent hospital care, with a focus on safety and quality for all our patients.

The Judy Reitz Capacity Command Center

Launched in 2016, the center improves efficiency of patient throughput and clinical care throughout the Johns Hopkins Health System, prioritizing quality, safety and the institution’s tripartite mission of innovative research, education and patient care.

Charitable Giving

In the Department of Emergency Medicine, philanthropy enables us to deflect potential disaster and save lives every day. Your charitable gift helps us to remain current with state-of-the-art technology and to provide emergency medical care to all those in need, regardless of their ability to pay.
