Vice Dean and Physician-in-Chief
Dr. Jallo joined Johns Hopkins in 2003 as a pediatric neurosurgeon. In 2013, he became the pediatric neurosurgery division director. Dr. Jallo moved to Johns Hopkins All Children's in 2015 to launch the Institute for Brain Protection Sciences, a multi-disciplinary institute that unites clinicians, researchers and educators focused on protecting neurodevelopment and caring for children with injuries and illnesses that affect the brain.
Dr. Jallo has published more than 245 peer-reviewed scientific articles, 89 book chapters and is co-editor of five textbooks on pediatric neurosurgery, pediatric epilepsy surgery and neuroendoscopy. He earned his medical degree at the University of Virginia Medical School and completed his residency at New York University Medical Center and fellowship at Beth Israel Medical Center.

Designated Institutional Official
Dr. Maniscalco is the director of medical education at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital. She joined the faculty in 2018 and became the director in 2021. She is the Designated Institutional Official (DIO) and her academic work relates to clinical teaching, promoting trainee autonomy, and mentorship.
She is a former pediatric hospital medicine fellowship director and chaired the AAP Section on Hospital Medicine PHM Fellows Conference from 2015-2018. She was the 2017 recipient of the PHM Award for Educational Excellence. She completed her pediatric residency and pediatric hospital medicine fellowship at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

Program Director, Pediatric Residency Program
Dr. Wroblewski specializes in general pediatrics at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. She sees patients on the hospital’s main campus in St. Petersburg, Florida. She joined the hospital staff in 2023. Dr. Wroblewski also serves as the director of the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Pediatric Residency Program.
She most recently practiced general pediatrics at the University of Toledo Medical Center in Ohio and was associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Toledo. She also served as the pediatric residency program director.
Dr. Wroblewski earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo. She completed her residency in pediatrics and served as chief resident at the University of Toledo. She also earned master’s certificates in clinical pathology from the Medical College of Ohio and in medical education from the University of Cincinnati.

Dr. Walters is a pediatric hospitalist at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. She joined the hospital staff in 2022 and serves as the associate program director of the Johns Hopkins All Children’s pediatric residency program. Dr. Walters is a clinical instructor in the Department of Pediatrics at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She sees patients on Johns Hopkins All Children’s main campus in St. Petersburg, Florida. Dr. Thomas specializes in pediatric infectious diseases in the Department of Medicine. He serves as an assistant residency program director and is co-director of the academic coaching program within the residency program. He is seeking a Master of Education in Healthcare Professions at Johns Hopkins University School of Education. His academic interests include faculty development around academic coaching strategies and teaching methods. He joined Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in 2016, after completing a fellowship in Pediatric Infectious Diseases at the University of Miami School of Medicine/Jackson Memorial Hospital. Before that, he completed his Pediatrics training and chief residency at West Virginia University/Charleston Area Medical Center. Dr. Thomas received his medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine with tracks in global and public health. He has received multiple career, educational and volunteer awards throughout his career.

Dr. Hannah McAtee is a chief resident at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. She earned her medical degree from the University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine. Dr. Viola specializes in pediatric anesthesiology at Johns Hopkins All Children’s. He joined the hospital staff in 2020. He also is program director of the Johns Hopkins All Children's Pediatric Anesthesia fellowship program. Dr. Viola was previously a pediatric anesthesiologist at Nemours Children’s Hospital in Orlando. Before that, he served as vice chief of pediatric anesthesia in the Division of Anesthesia at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital at Memorial Hospital in Hollywood, Florida.

Dr. Elliott specializes in pediatric anesthesiology, acute and chronic pain management, regional anesthesia and is a medical acupuncturist at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. Dr. Elliott earned his medical degree at Northeast Ohio Medical University. Fellowship Director, Bone Marrow Transplant
Dr. Chellapandian is the division chief of blood and marrow transplant and specializes in bone marrow transplant as a hematologist-oncologist and serves as Director of the Center for Cell and Gene Therapy for Non-Malignant Conditions (CCGNC) in the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Cancer & Blood Disorders Institute. He joined the hospital staff in 2017. Dr. Chellapandian's clinical and research interests include hematopoietic stem cell transplant for primary immunodeficiency, immune dysregulation disorders, sickle cell disease, thalassemia, and treatment of histiocytic disorders. He has special focus on ex-vivo graft engineering techniques and autologous gene therapy. He has adapted new methods of T- cell depletion using haploidentical transplantation to transplant patients lacking a suitable matched donor. He has numerous scientific papers and review articles published in this field.

Dr. Danielson specializes in general surgery and serves as chief of the division of pediatric surgery at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. He was an early adopter of minimally invasive surgical techniques and has expertise in treating chest wall deformities. Dr. Danielson was named Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital physician of the year in the 2015 Johns Hopkins Medicine Clinical Excellence Awards. He joined the hospital staff in 2009.

Dr. Nicole Chandler is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Worcester, MA, where she completed her general surgical residency. She also was a Research Fellow in Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, and was principal investigator for a grant that focused on overcoming chemoresistance in pancreatic cancer.

Dr. Gonzalez is a pediatric and surgical critical care surgeon at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. She joined the hospital staff in 2017. She was previously the surgical critical care fellowship program director at the Detroit Medical Center and also served as a member of the American Pediatric Surgical Association Surgical Critical Care Committee. Dr. Gonzalez received her medical degree from the University Of Puerto Rico School Of Medicine and trained in general surgery at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey. Dr. Thatch specializes in pediatric surgery at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital and is certified in surgery, pediatric surgery and surgical critical care. He joined the hospital staff in 2018. He serves as the Associate Program Director of the pediatric surgical critical care fellowship program, and leads the American College of Surgeons' Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Program at Tampa General Hospital. Dr. Thatch earned his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed a pediatric surgery research fellowship at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia and completed his general surgery residency at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. He also completed a fellowship in pediatric surgery critical care and served as a pediatric surgery intensivist at C. S. Mott Children’s Hospital/University of Michigan. Dr. Siems is a physician in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital. She earned her medical degree from New York Medical College, completed pediatric residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York where she stayed on for a chief resident year. She then pursued her fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine at Children' National Hospital in Washington, DC where she stayed on as faculty until joining the All Children's team in 2020. Dr. Siems also earned her Masters in Education from George Washington University where her career interests include training non-technical skills in medicine. She is also an expert in simulation and utilizes simulation to study team dynamics in medicine. She is passionate about improving the quality of care we deliver utilizing an interdisciplinary and interprofessional approach to medicine.

Dr. Sochet is a physician in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital who joined the hospital staff in 2016 and is an Assistant Professor on Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He earned his medical degree at Florida State University College of Medicine, completed his pediatric residency at University of South Florida College of Medicine, fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at Children’s National Medical Center, and Masters of Health Science in Clinical and Translational Research from the George Washington University. His research interests include an “-omics” approach to identifying modifiable risk factors for acute respiratory failure, machine learning to assess non-invasive modality failure, optimal nutrition delivery during critical illness, and the incorporation of industrial psychology and team science in healthcare.

Dr. Irani practices in the Sports Medicine program at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. She is board certified in pediatrics and eligible for certification in sports medicine. She is involved in a research study through the Johns Hopkins All Children's Institute for Brain Protection Science that follows a group of youth athletes to learn more about the effects of sports-related concussions on a child’s neuropsychiatric, neuropsychological, and cognitive functioning. Her clinical interests include concussions, ACL injuries in soccer players, and overuse injuries in dancers.

Dr. Mauriello is a general pediatric cardiologist who treats children with congenital heart disease. His areas of focus include graduate education as well as clinical interests in pulmonary hypertension and autonomic dysfunction. After graduating from the University of South Florida College of Medicine, he completed a residency in pediatric and adolescent medicine and a pediatric cardiology fellowship at the Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education, located at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. His research interests include clinical outcomes and quality improvement measures.

Dr. Johnson is the director of the Fetal Heart Program in the Heart Institute at Johns Hopkins All Children’s. She joined the hospital team in 2021. She was previously a pediatric cardiologist at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and an assistant professor of pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Johnson has published a number of peer-reviewed articles, authored book chapters and given talks nationally. Her clinical expertise is in fetal and pediatric echocardiography, and the care of all children with heart disease. Her research interests center around value, cost and outcomes in congenital heart disease.

Dr. Laks is a pediatric cardiologist who specializes in heart failure and transplantation. Dr. Laks earned her medical degree from the University of Ottawa in Ottawa, Ontario. She completed a residency in pediatrics at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she also served as pediatric co-chief resident. She completed a pediatric cardiology fellowship, where she served as chief pediatric cardiology fellow, followed by additional training in a pediatric heart function and transplant fellowship at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. She is also in the process of completing her Master of Science in Community Health with a specialization in Health Practitioner Teacher Education from the University of Toronto. Her clinical and research interests include medical education, cardiomyopathy and VAD management, and heart transplant outcomes.

Anne Altstadt joined Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in 2015 as the Pediatric Residency Manager. She provides administrative oversight for the Office of Medical Education, including both residency and fellowship programs. Anne earned her Bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Cleveland State University, Ohio and her Master’s degree in Management from the University of Phoenix. She is also C-TAGME certified in graduate medical education.

Visiting TraineesChelse joined Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital as the Office of Medical Education Administrative Coordinator in April of 2022. Chelse handles the coordination of clinical rotations for all visiting medical students, residents, and fellows. Chelse was born in Saint Petersburg, Florida and has lived in the area her entire life! Before coming to JHACH she was a Senior Consultant at a business consulting firm. She has her Associates degree and plans to further her education.

She completed her bachelor’s degree in Wellness Leadership from the University of South Florida in 1994 and a Master’s in Managerial Leadership from National Louis University in 2001. Prior to joining the hospital, she worked as an executive assistant and physician liaison for a large hematology oncology practice in the region.

Pediatric Residency ProgramLiz Savic joined Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital in 2021 and is a GME Administrator for the Pediatric Residency Program. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Social Work and Autism Studies degree from Southeast Missouri State University in 2010. What Liz finds most interesting about PRP is the Professional Development programs such as LEAD and PAUSE for the residents. She looks forward to the further development of these programs.
