Our Physicians
Therapy at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center
Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center offers outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy, as well as comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation. Our outpatient rehabilitation facilities are fully equipped with state-of-the-art gym equipment and latest rehabilitation technologies. Our occupational, physical and speech-language therapists work together to provide comprehensive treatment for a wide-range of conditions.
What to Expect
You may need a referral for certain therapy services if you anticipate them to be covered by your insurance plan. You can call or schedule an appointment with your primary care physician to obtain a referral for a physical therapy, occupational therapy or speech therapy consultation. Some specialty clinics, such as orthopedics and neurology, may be able to write a referral without seeing your primary care physician depending on your insurance.
You can fax the referral to 410-550-1390 or hand-deliver to the outpatient rehabilitation department. Once the referral is submitted, the referral coordinator in our department will contact your insurance company to get a pre-authorization and/or verify benefits. Once the authorization is approved and/or benefits are verified, you will be contacted by phone to schedule an appointment.
