Outpatient Services

We offer a comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach to provide our patients with the highest quality of care. The outpatient services we provide include:

  • The Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation Program is designed to modify the risks of heart disease through a carefully structured four- to twelve-week program of monitored exercise and education. Cardiac Rehab >>

  • Outpatient Infusion Center

    Our outpatient infusion services are designed for patients who need special injections, iron infusions, osteoporosis medications, implanted port care (flush/draw) and infusions of drugs to treat auto-immune diseases (such as Tysabri® for multiple sclerosis).

    Johns Hopkins Community Physicians (JHCP) and nurses from Johns Hopkins Home Care Group provide these infusion services in the Medical Arts Building, the building right next to the hospital, on the second floor.

    Hospital Infusion Center

    Patients who need blood product transfusions and injections, diuretics for congestive heart failure and certain endocrine tests that require blood draws and medication are performed at the hospital’s Infusion Center. Located on the first floor of the Berman Pavilion, The Infusion Center is staffed by two nurses skilled in managing IV infusions and is open Monday through Friday, with appointments available between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.  Appointments are scheduled to allow for the length of time needed to infuse the medication or blood product.

    To schedule an appointment, please go through your physician. If you have questions or need to speak directly to one of the nurses, please call 410-884-4949.

  • We are a College of American Pathologists (CAP) and American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) accredited lab that is a part of the Johns Hopkins Health System.

    Our normal hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:00am-4:00pm. No appointment is needed; we operate on a walk-in basis. We are also open Saturday and Sunday from 7:00am-4:00pm for STAT (needed immediately) testing. Outpatient Lab >>

  • Howard County General Hospital takes a comprehensive approach to meeting the special needs of people with chronic lung disease through an individualized regimen of exercise, education, breathing retraining and the development of coping and support skills.
