Phone Service Update

We are experiencing extremely high call volume related to COVID-19 vaccine interest. Please understand that our phone lines must be clear for people with urgent and acute medical care needs. Unfortunately, this means we are unable to accept phone calls to schedule COVID-19 vaccinations at this time. When this changes, we will update this web site. Read more COVID-19 Vaccine Information

Diagnostic Imaging

Howard County General Hospital’s Diagnostic Imaging Services Department offers a wide range of high-quality imaging services for patients of all ages. Our diagnostic imaging staff members are all highly qualified diagnostic imaging technologists and board-certified radiologists.

Most imaging studies conducted are for patients in the hospital. Specialized tests are offered on an outpatient basis, including nuclear medicine tests, breast biopsies, and interventional radiology procedures. For screening mammography, ultrasound, CT scan, MRI or DEXA scan, visit Johns Hopkins Medical Imaging, located in Columbia next to the hospital.

To request a copy of your imaging study performed at the hospital:

Contact the Film Library at 410-740-7924. The Film Librarian will require your name and date of birth to confirm your identity and locate your exams within the hospital computer system. Please be prepared with the date(s) and exams(s) for which you are requesting copies. HCGH digitally stores most radiology images so your images can be provided to you on CD relatively quickly. You will be asked for a date/time you wish to pick up your films or CD.  A photo ID must be presented at time of pick-up. Upon arrival at the hospital, proceed to the information desk and ask to be directed to the Film Library. It is a short distance from the main entrance of the hospital and is open Monday-Friday from 7:30am to 4:00pm.
