Johns Hopkins Home Care Group’s home ventilator services help you manage your respiratory condition from the comfort of home.

We provide home ventilator services to people of all ages throughout Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. You will need a referral from your provider to get started.

Johns Hopkins Home Care Group provides care for people who require a ventilator via their tracheostomy tube or through a nasal interface mask or mouthpiece to help them breathe.

Our care team includes licensed respiratory therapists, all with rigorous training. We have extensive expertise in treating complex lung diseases and other respiratory conditions.

We focus on teaching you about managing your condition and helping you get the right equipment to help you breathe better. We work with you or your caregiver to make sure you have everything you need before you leave the hospital and train you to feel confident that you can use your equipment properly. We provide 24-hour on-call service should you need help at any time.

Home Ventilator Services with Johns Hopkins: What to Expect 

Our home ventilator services and respiratory equipment help you manage care where it’s most convenient—at home. Here’s what to expect:

  1. Your doctor or other care provider refers you to us, and we verify the details.  
  2. If you’re in the hospital, we will come to you to show you and/or your caregiver how to use your equipment.  
  3. We follow up with you the day after your discharge to answer any questions that you may have and determine if an immediate revisit is needed. More frequent visits will be made during the first month to make sure everything is going well, and then we make monthly visits to check your equipment and to assess how well you are adhering to your home ventilator therapy.
  4. We will utilize the plan of care ordered by your physician, alerting your care team about any changes in your condition to promote comprehensive care.

Interpreter Services
