At the Johns Hopkins Center for Fetal Therapy, your care is led by a dedicated multidisciplinary team focused on you and your baby throughout pregnancy. From advanced prenatal diagnosis and fetal intervention to delivery planning, our specialists work together to provide coordinated, personalized care.
For many complex fetal conditions, your baby's care continues seamlessly after delivery with neonatology and pediatric specialists working alongside your fetal therapy team. Together, they provide coordinated care - all under one roof at The Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Care Before Delivery

Fetal Therapy specialists evaluate complex fetal conditions, develop and perform treatments or surgeries during pregnancy, and lead the care team with patient and baby at the center of every decision.

Perinatal nurses coordinate care, monitor both patient and baby, and keep everything moving between visits, testing, and procedures. They are often the main point of contact, answering questions, reinforcing the care plan, and making sure patients know what to expect at each step.

Genetic counselors review test results, explain potential diagnoses, and talk through what those findings mean for the pregnancy. They work closely with the care team and provide clear, straightforward guidance so patients can make informed decisions.

Research team members support studies focused on improving the diagnosis and treatment of fetal conditions. They work alongside the care team to coordinate research activities and, when appropriate, talk with patients about participation, explaining what it involves and answering questions along the way.

Sonographers perform the detailed imaging the care team relies on to diagnose and monitor fetal conditions. They track changes over time, support evaluations and procedures, and work closely with physicians to provide the information needed for real-time decisions.

Neonatologists plan for care after delivery and are ready to treat newborns who need specialized support. They work closely with the team before birth to prepare for different outcomes and help families understand what to expect in the first hours and days.
