The Resident Primary Care Clinic is a general internal medicine practice at the Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center. You will cared for by a collaborative team of physicians, nurses, pharmacists, technicians, and support staff. At the Primary Care Clinic, we diagnose and treat a wide range of health conditions, performing routine health examinations as well as managing acute and chronic conditions. We also conduct preventative care, disease education, and help coordinate any medical specialty needs.

As part of an academic medical center, you will be seen by resident physicians (residents). Residents are doctors who have completed medical school and are pursuing a three-year educational program in general internal medicine. Attending physicians, who are board certified doctors and have completed their residency training programs, supervise and work alongside residents in the clinic. When your resident completes their educational program, your physician will transition your care to a new resident.

Whenever possible, you will be scheduled with your PCP. However, if you need to be seen in clinic or urgently speak with a physician during a time when your PCP is not available, a covering physician familiar with your history will step in to take care of you.
