Background

Stacy Goldsholl, MA, is Research Associate and the Director of Intervention at the NIMH P50 Johns Hopkins ALACRITY Center for Health and Longevity in Mental Illness. She develops evidence-based lifestyle behavioral and care management programs aimed at reducing cardiovascular risk factors in persons with serious mental illness. She supports implementation of evidence-based practices in real world settings by training community mental health staff and clinicians as well as developing and operationalizing other implementation strategies.

She has spent her career in research focused on improving the health and quality of life of persons with serious mental illness. She has been involved in several trials including the Achieve Healthy Lifestyles Trial, the IDEAL cardiovascular disease risk reduction and care management trial, the TRIUMPH smoking cessation and weight management trial, and the CHAMPION weight management program for youth with serious emotional disturbances. She has extensive experience in intervention development, training practitioners, Motivational Interviewing Treatment Integrity (MITI) coding for fidelity to a patient-centered approach, implementation strategies, and connecting with a variety of mental health providers interested in implementing evidence-based CVD risk reduction practices in community clinics throughout the country.
