In keeping with the tripartite mission at Johns Hopkins, a faculty member's role as a clinician is a vital component of his or her work and supported by various programs at this institution.

  • Economics of Clinical Operations (ECO) with Dr. David Yousem - Twice annually in the Fall and Spring
    • E-mail for information on how to apply.
    • Click here to access the materials for the course.

  • The Miller-Coulson Academy of Clinical Excellence (MCACE) is an initiative sponsored by the Center for Innovative Medicine; it was created with a mission to recognize masterful physicians who are steadfastly committed to clinical excellence for the benefit of the patients and communities that they serve.

  • Finally, the Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality hosts a Leadership academy for clinicians. The nine-month program trains future health care leaders to transform the clinical health care setting to eliminate harm and create a culture of caring. As part of the program, scholars initiate, plan and lead a sustainable, multidisciplinary patient safety or quality improvement project at Johns Hopkins. They will also identify and apply metrics to evaluate the impact of their projects on patient outcomes. This year's program launched September 9, 2016. Please return early Spring 2017 for information on the next application cycle.
