Recruitment Information
Thank you for your interest in the Johns Hopkins Fellowship Program in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. First, thank you for choosing to train in our wonderful specialty for the next step in your career! We are excited to meet future colleagues in this diverse and rewarding specialty.
The 2025 recruitment will be held virtually. We recognize the experience will be different from in-person recruitment, but we are confident you will find it informative and useful in conveying the culture of our division and program.
Our program accepts 3 fellows per year into our ACGME accredited fellowship.
Application Materials and ERAS
Applications for our program are accepted only through the Electronic Residency Application (ERAS) site. We require the following supporting documents to be submitted via ERAS:
- Application
- Picture (not required, but appreciated)
- CV
- Personal statement
- 4 Letters of Recommendation, including one from your program director
- Dean’s Letter - MSPE
- Medical School Transcript
- USMLE Transcript
- ECFMG Report (if applicable)
Applications are reviewed and interview offers are generally made in late August-early September.
The Match
Our program participates in the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP) and all applications are processed through the NRMP. Per guidelines from the NRMP, our GME office has provided information on contracts and policies. Note: we are an all “all-in” program and do not accept applicants outside of the NRMP match.
Most applicants will apply for our 2-year ACGME accredited program and rank our program using NRMP code 1242143F1. For qualified individuals applying on the ABIM Research pathway, candidates should rank our program using the NRMP code 1242143F0
Information for Visa Holders
We welcome applications from international medical graduates. International medical graduates will need to have completed an ACGME accredited U.S.-based residency program in internal medicine prior to beginning the program. With regards to visa status, holders of J1 and existing H1B visas are considered primarily for our clinical scholars track.
