About Our Students

Johns Hopkins medical students study under and work shoulder-to-shoulder with some of the most extraordinary minds in biomedical science. So it’s no surprise that the 482 current M.D. candidates at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine are themselves a distinguished group. They include musicians, soldiers, artists, athletes and writers. They hail from 44 states and nine foreign countries, and some hold MBAs and MFAs in addition to their baccalaureate degrees. There are Rhodes Scholars and Fulbright winners as well as career changers and many first-generation college students. Their diversity and individuality contribute to the vibrancy of the Johns Hopkins community, but every one of these students, like their over 7,000 predecessors, share a desire to learn on the cutting edge of medicine. That’s why they chose Johns Hopkins.
