Solbert Permutt Early Career Investigator Award

The Solbert Permutt Early Career Scholars Award will provide substantial support to a member of the faculty in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Johns Hopkins who is embarking on a career in research. The award can be used at the discretion of the awardee and mentors to purchase new research equipment, provide salary support for a research assistant or coordinator, or reduce clinical obligations.

Potential awardees must be full-time members of the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Johns Hopkins University and must have completed fellowship training within 5 years before the award is given. A small faculty selection committee will be appointed annually to represent the breadth of research within the community of respiratory and circulatory research.

Endowment

An endowment fund was established in 2025. Funds for this endowment were initially provided by current members of the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine and then by alumni of our fellowship and by former colleagues and friends of Sol Permutt. Additional funding from other sources will be very welcome.
