Neurosurgeon Jared Marks Joins Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery

Johns Hopkins Department of Neurosurgery and Suburban Hospital are pleased to welcome new faculty member: Neurosurgeon Jared Marks, whose clinical focus is spinal surgery. He treats degenerative changes in the spine as well as spine tumors, spine infections, spine trauma and spinal deformity. He performs laminectomies, discectomies, tumor resections, spinal fusions, deformity corrections, traumatic injury stabilizations and placement of implants such as baclofen pumps and spinal cord stimulators.

Dr. Marks also treats general neurosurgical conditions such as intracranial infections, head injury, carpal tunnel syndrome and ulnar nerve compression. Dr. Marks practices patient-centered neurosurgery, treating the patient not just the signs and symptoms. He also believes in maximizing non-surgical therapies before pursuing surgical options when possible.

Dr. Marks earned his medical degree at Temple University School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC), followed by a fellowship in complex spinal surgery at The Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Dr. Marks sees patients at the Johns Hopkins Health Care and Surgery Center in Bethesda and performs surgery at Suburban Hospital.
