Neurofibromatosis Appointments and Referrals
- Patients with suspected NF1: If you do not have a confirmed diagnosis of NF1, you will first need to be evaluated at our general genetics clinic because many disorders are mistaken for NF1. Please call 443-997-1439 to schedule a genetic evaluation. Once a diagnosis is confirmed, we will be happy to see you at the NF Center.
- Patients with NF2 and schwannomatosis: Whether you have a confirmed or suspected diagnosis, you can schedule an intake clinic appointment with our NF clinic coordinator and nurse practitioner.
Neurofibromatosis Patient Referrals
To refer a patient for neurofibromatosis or schwannomatosis care, contact the Hopkins Access Line (HAL) at 410-955-9444 and ask for the on-call physician, neurologist, or neurosurgeon. HAL accepts physician-to-physician referrals only.
To make the referral process as efficient as possible, please fax the following information and medical records to 410-500-4271:
- Patient name
- Date of birth
- Contact information
- Reason for referral
International patients may be referred through Johns Hopkins International. Patient admission will be directed to The Johns Hopkins Hospital or the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center depending on the sub-specialty care required.
Rescheduling Appointments and Cancellations
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please call us at 410-502-6732. If possible, please call no later than two business days before your scheduled visit so that another patient can be seen. Cancelling or rescheduling a new-patient appointment may result in additional wait time.
