About Program
The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine Division of Nephrology Fellowship Training Program offers diverse training pathways, including clinical education, basic science, clinical practice, and clinical investigation through the Bloomberg School of Public Health. Highly qualified applicants can also pursue specialized training in Glomerular Disease, Bioinnovation & Design, Clinical Pharmacology, Critical Care (with NIH affiliation), and Global Health.
Fellows receive a housing stipend, cell phone stipend, paid parking, lunch 3 days a week, an educational stipend for meeting expenses, parental leave, and a competitive salary/benefits package.
Our Program has a single NRMP Match (1242148F0), and we offer four primary areas of specialization:
- Clinical Investigator. This is intended for applicants committed to pursuing a Masters or Doctoral degree at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health with the goal of an academic, independently funded clinical investigator career. In general, US residency is required.
- Clinician Educator/Clinical Academics/Transplant. This is intended for applicants committed to a Clinical Academic or Transplant career, and/or pursuing longitudinal coursework in Clinical Education.
- Clinical Practice. This is intended for applicants pursuing a career in private practice.
- Basic Scientist. This is intended for applicants with a solid record of basic science training who are committed to an academic, independently funded career as a bench scientist.
