Melanoma and Other Skin Cancers
If you’ve received a melanoma diagnosis or a suspicious biopsy result, The Johns Hopkins Melanoma Program is here to help. Our program brings together industry-leading care and world-class research. Our multidisciplinary group of renowned experts works as a team to determine individualized treatment plans and clinical trials that will benefit our patients most.
Cutting Edge Research
Patients of The Johns Hopkins Melanoma Program have access to revolutionary clinical trials, as Hopkins Melanoma researchers are constantly exploring new therapy targets. Hopkins was among the first to pioneer the investigation of immune-based therapies involving PD-1, a protein whose pathway can be blocked to restore the body’s ability to detect and attack cancer. Our clinical research programs offer studies for patients with various stages of melanoma, ranging from preventing disease recurrence in high-risk surgical patients to developing innovative drug therapies for patients with advanced metastatic disease.
