Child Injury Prevention Network

Injuries are the leading cause of death during childhood and adolescence. The Johns Hopkins Child Injury Prevention Network (CIPN) is committed to reducing the burden of injury — one child and one population at a time. CIPN is a collaborative group of faculty, staff members and students across various areas of Johns Hopkins Medicine and the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

We are dedicated to advancing research and its application to bring evidence-based, innovative programs and services to patients and families in Baltimore and throughout the region.

Learn more at American Red Cross.

Product Safety

Product recalls can lead to injuries. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) works to save lives and keep families safe by reducing the unreasonable risk of injuries associated with consumer products. Visit CPSC Recalls to see if products in your home meet safety standards or have been recalled. Or, you can also call the CPSC Consumer Hotline at 800-638-2772.

Car Seat Safety

Project Kids in Safety Seats (KISS) is a statewide program funded through the Maryland Highway Safety Office. Its mission is to reduce injuries and death among Maryland’s children by helping people obtain car seats and booster seats — and use them correctly every time a child rides in a motor vehicle.
