Airports and Transport

Johns Hopkins Medicine is served by three major airports, providing several options to meet your needs.

  • Baltimore/Washington International (BWI) – about 20–30 minutes by car; shuttle, taxi and rideshare available.
  • Washington Dulles International (IAD) – about 60–75 minutes by car; rideshare, taxi and shuttle options.
  • Ronald Reagan Washington National (DCA) – about 60 minutes by car; accessible by car, metro, and rail connections.

Hotels with Patient Rates

Many hotels and housing near Johns Hopkins Medicine offer discounted rates for patients and families. Options range from short-term stays to extended-stay apartments for longer visits.

Visa Support Letters

If you need a U.S. visa, please contact your local U.S. embassy or consulate for requirements and processing times. Once your appointments are scheduled, we can provide an official appointment confirmation letter, which may support your visa application. (Unfortunately, we cannot provide visa invitation letters.)
 

 

Request an International Patient Appointment 

To request an appointment for a patient traveling from outside the United States, start by completing the International Patient Interest Form below. Within two business days, a dedicated care coordinator will contact you in your preferred language to gather additional information and guide you through every step of your care — including appointment scheduling, travel planning, interpretation and billing questions.
