Telemedicine appointments are available with certain healthcare providers, depending on your location and the provider’s state license.

All new patients should ask their physician to fax relevant recent medical records to 410-500-4267 (Maryland locations) or 202-660-7359 (DC locations), including labs, CT or MRI scans, radiology reports, liver biopsy reports, physician notes, etc.

What to Expect During Your Appointment

When you come to the appointment with one of our liver disease experts, we’ll start by asking you questions about your health and performing a physical exam. The doctor will review your recent test results and might recommend further tests to examine your liver function and help confirm a suspected diagnosis. Additional tests may include:

  • Imaging tests such as a CT scan, an ultrasound, MRI or noninvasive measurement of liver fibrosis
  • A liver biopsy
  • A comprehensive metabolic blood test to examine liver and kidney function, as well as testing blood for signs of infection or certain genetic markers
  • Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography or endoscopic ultrasound
  • Other tests as needed
