IEE Education Award for Outstanding Achievement in Teaching by a Part Time Faculty member

Congratulations to Dr. Pathak!

Sujay Pathak, MD, holds dual roles with Johns Hopkins Community Physicians as a primary care provider, and with the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, as director of the Advanced Ambulatory Clerkship.  This position places him squarely at the intersection of primary care theory and practice.  He brings both the theoretical expertise and the immense clinical resources of Johns Hopkins Medicine to the clinical care of individuals from all walks of life.

Whether our adult and pediatric patients come to us with highly complex or routine conditions, from local communities or around the globe, our clinicians consistently deliver expert, compassionate and research-based treatment and care.

Last fall, we issued a call for nominations in six award categories to once again recognize clinicians whose work has demonstrated consistent excellence. We applaud the nearly 300 clinicians whose peers took the time to place their names in nomination. After much deliberation, we’re proud to announce the 42 award recipients — six from each of our hospitals and our community practices in six categories.

Johns Hopkins School Of Medicine News

We Are Happy to Announce...

Dear Colleagues,

A few weeks ago, we updated you on the development of a clinical promotion track and asked for your input on the proposal. Thank you to all who provided feedback, as well as to the many who participated along the way.

Last week, following a unanimous vote of support by the faculty senate, the Advisory Board of the Medical Faculty approved the creation of a clinical track in our promotions process, as well as the associated promotion criteria. We believe this step underscores our commitment to recognizing excellence across all parts of our tripartite mission.

Over the next few months, we will complete an implementation plan for this track, as well as modify the Gold Book to reflect this new opportunity. We anticipate rolling out the track in the coming year, and will continue to update you.

Many people have worked hard to bring us to this point. We want to thank everyone involved for their incredible effort, especially the leaders of our clinical track committee, David Eisele, Scott Wright and Cindy Rand.

We are confident this new clinical promotion pathway will recognize, reward and advance the careers of faculty whose primary academic focus, professional effort and time commitment is the delivery and teaching of clinically excellent patient care.

Sincerely,

Paul B. Rothman, M.D. (served from 2012-2022)
Dean of the Medical Faculty
CEO, Johns Hopkins Medicine

Landon S. King, M.D.
