Virtual Interviewing Information

For the 2023-2024 Interview Season

In keeping with the AAMC and CORD recommendations for the 2023-2024 interview season, Johns Hopkins Emergency Medicine interviews will be all virtual and we will continue to ensure that applicants have an informative, interactive and enjoyable time learning about our program.

Your virtual visit to Johns Hopkins will begin on the evening before your interview day, with a Zoom session with current residents and their partners/spouses. This is optional and casual, but an excellent way to meet some of our residents. This is also an excellent opportunity for your partner/spouse to meet some of our current residents’ significant others if they are interested.

The interview day will be held entirely via Zoom. We start with a welcome and program overview with our program director, Dr. Michael Ehmann. After meeting Dr. Ehmann, you will join our residents and faculty at our weekly Friday conference for our annual Chairman’s Hour case series with Dr. Gabe Kelen and a rotating cast of PGY-3 residents. After a brief break for lunch, you will have three virtual individual interviews. In between interviews, you will spend time with the other applicants, some of our residents, and Dr. Ehmann so that we can get to know you and you can get to know us.
