Updated: 11/4/2021 | The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention now recommends children ages 5 and older receive a COVID-19 vaccine. Johns Hopkins Medicine encourages all families with eligible children to get the appropriate COVID-19 vaccine.

  • Children ages 5–11 years can receive the Pfizer pediatric COVID-19 vaccine (10mcg dose).
  • Adolescents 12 and older can receive the Pfizer adult COVID-19 vaccine (30mcg dose).

Doses are based on age, not weight. Read more information on getting a vaccine for your child. Please use all available resources to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
