Center for Pediatric Data Science and Analytic Methodology
The primary focus of the Center for Pediatric Data Science and Analytic Methodology (PDSAM) is to investigate, develop, apply, and disseminate novel models, architectures, and analytic methodologies in healthcare data science. Additionally, the center guides the development and management of the technological infrastructure for the purpose of analyzing the large amounts of data gathered and maintained by the center in collaboration with internal and external partners.
The goals of the center are to:
- Investigate novel approaches in healthcare data science by proposing, implementing, and collaborating on data-driven research initiatives, acting as Principal Investigators (PIs) or collaborating subject matter experts.
- Develop data-driven methodologies, machine-learning models, and medical devices that improve upon existing tools while also improving the quality of care for children at JHACH and beyond.
- Apply the center’s research by putting developed models and hardware into operational practice where appropriate, measuring their impact through dashboards and objective metrics.
- Disseminate our findings through presentations at local, regional, and international conferences while also continuing educational initiatives such as the center’s ongoing seminar series and annual symposium.
