COVID-19 Update

Blood Drives

The American Red Cross is facing a severe blood shortage due to an unprecedented number of blood drive cancellations during the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. Healthy individuals are needed to donate now to help patients counting on lifesaving blood.

Check your watch or your phone. Note the time. On average in the U.S., during the next hour, 1,800 people are going to need blood.

Here's the good news: giving blood usually takes about an hour. And it can help save up to three lives.

To ensure there is an ample blood supply in our region, Johns Hopkins Bayview hosts an American Red Cross blood drive every 56 days. If you are an eligible donor, we encourage you to participate in one of our upcoming drives.
Call 410-550-0289 to schedule a donation.

Upcoming drives:

  • October 22, 23 and 26 2020
  • November 30, 2020
  • December 21 to 23, 2020

Schedule your life-saving donation today. All participants receive a parking pass, meal coupon and special “thank you” gift from the Medical Center.
