Mobility Advocate Course
The Johns Hopkins Mobility Advocate Course is a 4-hour course offered to mobility advocates who are frontline nursing staff on how to utilize JH-AMP tools and engage patients to meet their mobility goal.
This course empowers nursing staff with essential training to safely engage and mobilize patients using functional capacity scores to achieve daily mobility goals. Mobility advocates who receive this training will also be able to be a resource and coach their peers in promoting mobility.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, the mobility advocate will be able to:
- Articulate the importance of activity and mobility for patients in the hospital
- Utilize JH-AMP tools to assess function and mobility performance
- Describe ways to incorporate mobility as part of daily care plan and assessment
- Describe strategies to overcome barriers to early mobility and integrate mobility into daily workflow
- Articulate and demonstrate techniques to progress patient’s mobility safely
