Director, Atypical Parkinsonism Center

Alexander Pantelyat, M.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Pantelyat completed medical school at Temple University School of Medicine.  He completed his neurology residency and movement disorder fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, and is board certified in neurology. 

Dr. Pantelyat is the Director of the Johns Hopkins Atypical Parkinsonism Center. He is a co-investigator at the Udall Parkinson’s Disease Research Center, specifically for the longitudinal and brain donation studies, which seek to improve our understanding of disease progression, and the psychiatric and cognitive aspects of Parkinson's disease and atypical parkinsonian disorders. He is also co-investigator on NIH-funded studies to identify biomarkers for progressive supranuclear palsy, Parkinson's disease and Parkinson's disease-related cognitive impairment.
