At Johns Hopkins, we have access to outstanding diagnostic laboratories, including:
This is one of the foremost clinical and research groups in the world for electromyography, nerve conduction studies and specialized techniques such as single-fiber recordings.
This lab performs more than 200 nerve and muscle biopsies a year and receives biopsies from other hospitals for processing, interpretation and review.
This lab developed a skin biopsy technique that allows to see the small nerve fibers within the skin, which is especially useful in assessing small sensory pain fibers that are "invisible" in nerve conduction studies.
Learn about the different types of peripheral neuropathies we treat.
Our team works with each patient to develop a tailored treatment plan. Treatments differ based on the type of neuropathy, the number and location of the affected nerves, as well as personal health factors. Our specialists provide expert neurological and medical care for peripheral neuropathies. We also partner with other centers across Johns Hopkins to connect our patients with the best treatment approaches.
