The complement system is a complex network of immune proteins important in defending against infection. Impaired control of complement can lead to kidney disease, most notably C3 glomerulopathy and thrombotic microangiopathy. Specific disease examples include:
- C3 glomerulonephritis
- Dense Deposit Disease
- Atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome
