Our Mission

Our mission is to develop internists who are:

• Top-notch primary care physicians
• Committed to the care of disadvantaged and vulnerable populations in domestic urban settings
• Experts in medical and social conditions common in domestic vulnerable urban settings
• Future leaders of primary care, academia, public health and/or health advocacy organizations

The Osler Medical Residency, world-renowned since its founding in 1889, is famous for its academic rigor, its esprit de corps, its focus on general medical wards and clinics, and its unwavering commitment to comprehensive care for the residents of East Baltimore. Inclusive excellence and health equity are central values of our program. We strive to create a program with residents who have diverse experiences and who feel supported by our program and the institution.

We have thoughtfully and intentionally built our UH and MP community.
