Nearly 350 guests enjoyed a special evening celebrating Howard County General Hospital and its lifesaving staff at the hospital’s 4th annual Heroes in Health Care event. Held Saturday, June 8 at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, the event was Chaired by Zack Shariff and Louann Magi-Shariff and featured dinner, dancing to live music by the Junkyard Saints, silent auction and superhero - themed caricatures and photo booth. The event raised more than $200,000 to benefit HCGH – a record-setting year – and plans are already underway for the 2020 event on June 13, with Honorary Chairs Gary and Kelly Garofalo.

Heroes in Health Care 2019 - Patti's Story

When Patti Caplan starting experiencing symptoms of a heart attack, including chest pain and shortness of breath, her husband quickly took her to Howard County General Hospital for lifesaving treatment.
