Will soon be on Medicare? Do you provide care to someone covered by Medicare? This presentation will review Original Medicare (Part A Hospital and Part B Medical) and Prescription Drug Coverage (Part D). Learn what is covered, your costs, how Medicare works, and available benefit programs. Presented by the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP), Howard County Office on Aging. - This course will teach you the skills needed to clear an airway obstruction, perform cardio- pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED). This class is registered per person, not per couple. - Have you been on Medicare for a while but want to deepen your understanding of the different types of coverage available to you and what you should consider when comparing those options? This Medicare refresher class will provide a quick review of the parts of Medicare and then help you better understand the two paths to Medicare coverage (Original Medicare vs Medicare Advantage/Health Plans), including when you can change plans. You will also learn helpful hints on becoming a more active participant in your health care. Additional topics include helpful resources, benefit programs that help with the cost of Medicare, and how to protect yourself from Medicare fraud.
