What to Expect

Testing will mainly be conducted by drive thru. When you arrive to the testing location, please follow traffic directions given by event staff and stay in your vehicle. You will be placed in a line and checked-in for testing. You will proceed to the testing area while remaining in your vehicle. We ask that you please wear a mask when interacting with event staff before and after the test. Walk-ups are welcome.

  • We are providing the COVID-19 nasal swab test. During the test, a long swab, like a Q-tip, is placed into the very back of your nose.
  • Results from the test will be ready in MyChart (patient portal) in 2-4 days. For events that occur on the weekend, the lab will process specimens on Monday with results available in MyChart by Tuesday morning.
  • If you view your results in MyChart and have a negative result, you will not receive a phone call with your results.
  • If you have a positive result, you have COVID-19, and you will receive a call from a Johns Hopkins representative within 2-4 days to notify you of your test result.

MyChart is free and available to all Johns Hopkins Medicine patients. You can sign-up for MyChart here.
