Infection Control Epidemiologists and Associates
Infection Control Epidemiologists, also known as Infection Preventionists assist JHH HEIC leadership and Hospital Epidemiologists in the development and execution of infection control programs throughout the hospital. Infection Preventionists are responsible for planning, leading and implementing these programs in their areas of responsibility. In addition, Infection Preventionists continuously evaluate policies, procedures and practices relating to infection control within the institution to assure optimum protection for all patients, visitors and employees.
Infection Control Associates (ICA) support HEIC and Infection Preventionists in developing and implementing HEICs infection control programs. Infection Control Associates assess and provide feedback to JHH personnel on hand hygiene, standard and transmission-based precautions, operating room infection control practices, point of use and and environmental cleaning processes and the environment in which patient care is performed. Infection Control Associates also provide training on infection prevention topics.
