The Johns Hopkins HIV Women's Health Program

The Johns Hopkins HIV Women’s Health Program, established in 1988, specializes in providing comprehensive and reproductive health care to women with HIV and AIDS. Our experts have extensive knowledge of the unique reproductive health needs of women with the disease and offer a variety of services including gynecologic care, obstetrical care, counseling, and community outreach. We strive to provide community-based, culturally-sensitive and coordinated care to the diverse women we serve.

HIV Counseling & Community Outreach

Participants of our Halo program have access to onsite HIV counseling and testing. To make our services accessible to the wider community, we also offer testing and counseling in various community-based organizations and churches. Our HIV counselors provide pre-and-post testing counseling, including prevention advice, based on test results and patient needs.

If you learn you are HIV-infected, we encourage you to enroll in our outreach program. The outreach staff will assist you in coping with your diagnosis and in accessing the health and social services available to you in Baltimore and the surrounding counties. Learn more about HIV resources in Baltimore at the Greater Baltimore HIV Services Planning Council website.

Outreach staff is also available to provide education and presentations on HIV, including prevention messages, to groups in the community. To learn more, call us at 410-614-3023.

The team at the Johns Hopkins HIV Women's Health Program bring many years experience working with HIV-positive women and their families and share a long-term commitment to this work, with respect and deep concern for those affected by the HIV epidemic.
